Behind Krilaha Immigration Services is the story of a woman who lived the immigrant experience herself.
Lavanya Mahendran moved to Canada four years ago, leaving behind a successful career in software engineering. While her background was rooted in technology and problem-solving, her heart was drawn toward something deeper—helping people. As an immigrant, she understood firsthand the emotions, challenges, and uncertainties of starting a new life in a foreign country. She knew what it meant to leave behind familiar surroundings and to take the leap into the unknown in pursuit of opportunity.
Her compassion for others and her belief in giving back to society had always been part of her life. Lavanya spent years volunteering in community initiatives, supporting those in need, and contributing to causes that uplift people. It was this spirit of service that inspired her to transition from technology to immigration consulting.
Driven by this calling, she pursued formal education in the field, graduating from Queen’s University with a Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law. Today, she is a licensed member of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), authorized to represent clients before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB).
